‘Send Help’ is a dark comedy survival thriller released in movie theaters on January 30, 2026. This chilling movie is about two work colleagues Linda and her overbearing boss Bradley, who are the only two survivors from a plane crash. They are stranded on a desert island, forcing them to confront their issues to survive.
The movie opens with a glimpse into Linda Liddle’s quiet life in her apartment, where she lives with her bird. A dedicated worker, Linda is constantly generating new ideas for the company. She was promised a vice-president position by Bradley Preston’s father, who passed away before he could fulfill his promise. Bradley then took over his father’s role, disrupting the company.
She may not be “executive material” as Bradley puts it, but Linda is too valuable to the company to fire her. Bradley invites Linda to a business trip in Thailand, where the company was supposed to finalize an important merger.
Bradley’s private plane encounters horrific weather over the Pacific Ocean, which resulted in a gruesome plane crash, leaving Bradley and Linda to wash up on a deserted island.
Bradley’s leg gets badly injured in the crash, but this doesn’t stop him from bossing Linda around. Linda keeps calm and puts her strategic planning skills to work, but not only does she have outstanding skills, she’s a ‘Survivor’ super fan. Linda is so obsessed with the show that her apartment is filled with books about survival tips.
A lifetime of being stuck on the beach with Linda might be Bradley’s biggest nightmare, but for Linda, it’s something close to a dream come true. Now Linda holds all the authority, as she knows how to keep both alive and sheltered.
Throughout the movie, Linda explores the island, creates shelter, prepares for storms, and hunts for food. All while Bradley sits back and judges her, always reminding Linda that he remains in power.
During their time on the island, there are scary twists that have the audience stunned, but most importantly Linda starts treating Bradley just as Bradley has treated her, which leads to a violent and gory ending.
Sam Raimi’s ‘Send Help’ movie has received a 7.2/10 on IMDb and has a 93% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. I would have to agree with these ratings. Send Help was an excellent thriller and had me wondering who would come out on top at the end.
For fans of horror who appreciate a bit of dark humor, ‘Send Help’ is a must-see in theaters!
