Varsity Girls Volleyball Net Multiple Wins in Tournament

Varsity Girls Volleyball Net Multiple Wins in Tournament

On Saturday, September 20 at 8 am the Bel Air Girls Volleyball team arrived for a bracket-style tournament against many other high school teams from around the state.

The morning started with pool play, which means teams are divided into smaller groups known as pools, and play in a round-robin format. The Bobcats faced teams including Howard, Winters Mill, and Roland Park in pool play, going 4-2 in that round. With that success, they began the traditional bracket-style tournament that afternoon, where they’d end in a very close semifinals match to Atholton, finishing the tournament in a strong third place.

JV Coach Amanda Bowden thought the practice Saturday was great for the Bobcats. “There were great teams from around the state that were in the tournament. Bel Air played really well, and against good competition. Our losses were really close losses, so we were competing at a very high level against very good teams around the state.”
