On September 22, 2025, the Bel Air Bobcats and C. Milton Wright Mustangs played a soccer match at the Bobcat Stadium that went far beyond the game itself. Bel Air filled the stands dressed in white, while CMW took the stands dressed in black. From the first whistle to the final minutes, it was clear this night was about love, respect, and community.
Just days earlier, on September 18th, 2025, C. Milton Wright junior Blake Elliot tragically passed away in a car accident. Blake is remembered for her energy, kindness, and the way she uplifted everyone around her. The game was also played in support of senior Zach Griffin, who was severely injured in the same accident. Griffin, a leader for C. Milton Wright in his final season, has shown strength and heart both on and off the field.
Both teams gave everything they had. Bel Air fought with passion, and CMW pushed hard with confidence, determined to honor Elliot and Griffin through their play. Every run, every save, and every goal carried extra meaning, turning the 2–1 score result into a symbol of unity rather than rivalry. Freshman Tyler Smith of the JV soccer team says that he “played the game and it was super hype, everyone had love and came to support each other.”
On this night, the spirit of soccer was about more than winning, it was about remembering Blake, supporting Zach, and showing how two schools could come together in strength and compassion.
