The Bel Air High School Bobcats took the field at home for the first time this season on Friday, September 12. The team faced Overlea High School Falcons under the lights at Bobcat Stadium, and while the community prepared for an exciting night of football, it ended in a loss to put the Bobcats 0-2 to begin their season.
Bel Air entered the game looking to bounce back after their opening matchup against Edgewood last week, which ended in a 36–12 point loss. The Bobcats showed effort on both sides of the ball, but they are now aiming to tighten up their defense and create more scoring opportunities on offense.
The game against Overlea was an important opportunity for Bel Air to gain momentum early in the season, and players and coaches had been preparing throughout the week, working on strategies to help the team compete more strongly.
Head Coach Eric Siegel says that junior, Makhi Feaster, “earned his first-ever forced fumble [last week]. He also made six total tackles as Bel Air fell to Edgewood 36-12. Feaster’s big game is all the more special as we consider it to be the best performance he’s ever had.” Moments like these give the team something positive to build on after these first two losses.
Cheer on the Bobcats at their next game this Friday. 7 pm @ Elkton.
