Last evening, Bel Air High School held an art show and inducted new members into the National Art Honor Society (NAHS).
The show featured a display of art using different medias made by students from various art classes. Senior art student Kaylee Lukas, who earned first place for her senior portfolio, as well as second place for both best sculpture and best photography, shared her excitement about the art show. “I loved seeing everyone’s work and the incredible effort that went into it.” Alexis Madden, the Social Media Liaison for NAHS, echoed this sentiment, stating, “It was wonderful to be part of something so grand. My final year at the art show was truly amazing! The artwork was exceptional this year, and it’s always a delight to walk around and admire all the creativity on display!” From colored-pencil drawings to detailed ceramics, the exhibition showcased the talent of our school’s art students.
At the event, multiple students were also welcomed into the National Art Honor Society (NAHS), acknowledging their talent and commitment to the visual arts. The new members were formally welcomed into the NAHS and honored for their dedication and artistic achievements through a certificate. At these inductions, senior members of NAHS also got their pins and cords for graduation. “I’ve loved being part of National Art Honor Society over the past year. It’s allowed me to meet like-minded peers and express my love for the arts in away that helps the community.
