Bel Air High School ended February on a high note with the Talent Show! This year’s talent show left many impressed and excited, with anticipation for expected performers.
The 2025 Talent show stared Sophia Powell as the host for the show. Performers included Dexter Fox-Gayle, Gabriel Rodill, Chloe Morris and Mr. Schoppert with the Heighe Street Band!
One of the most anticipated performances was Dexter Fox- Gayle’s, a skillful sword performance mixed with Taekwondo. “I did Taekwondo for 11 years and when joking around, I decided to practice with a sword and was good at it.”This talented performer thought to take to the stage after doing it his freshman year and received praise and thought to do it again this year. Gayle’s future message for the upcoming years and talent shows, is for others to consider performing in the show.

Powell, the Host for the BAHS Talent show, got into character to let people feel the reality of the talent show. Sophie shared her experience getting into character: “It was tough controlling such a large crowd, but it was nice to build off of each other’s energy for sure.” Sophie also says it was fun letting the talent show be its own thing and not taken too seriously and the feeling of knowing everyone is about to have fun brings good energy.
Students were not the only performers, with teachers performing, too. Mr. Nathaniel Schoppert and the Heighe Street Band performed Bohemian Rhapsody, a classic Queen song, receiving much praise. “We chose this song because it was an opportunity for every teacher to get involved” says Schoppert.
Schoppert has known the song since he was a kid, and it was memorable for him and easy to remember and the whole band could play the song. Controlling a large crowd was not an easy task though, Schoppert added. The Talent Show hosted at BAHS every year is an amazing opportunity to show students and staff appreciation. Come to next year’s talent show, and thank you BAHS for an amazing performance in 2025.
