Dallas Mavericks trade Luka Dončić to the Lakers in return for Anthony Davis. February 2, Mavericks trade Dončić (PG), for Davis (C, PF).

Many fans were left in shock as this was the last trade they expected. Cleveland Cavelier Power Forward, Tristan Thompson tweets “Luka getting traded from Dallas has to have a deeper story behind it. This just doesn’t happen on a random Saturday night.”

Dončić’s first game with Los Angeles Lakers was Monday February 10, resulting in a win for the Lakers, 132-113. While the Lakers seem to be benefiting off the trade, Dallas Mavericks are on the lower end, with Anthony Davis receiving a groin injury upsetting many Maverick fans.

These two teams have far more chemistry to develop with the new trade, and the season is still somewhat fresh. Both teams can prosper, and fans are anxious to see what happens next.
