A snowstorm swept through Florida last week on January 23, catching lots of residents off guard. The state typically known for it’s tropically warm weather was suddenly under a state of emergency for the winery weather conditions.
This weather began around 6 am that morning in the northern and central parts of the state, such as Gainesville and Ocala. Some areas recording up to 2 inches of snow. Weather advisories were issued, due to the dangerous driving conditions as the roads began to be slick.
Temperatures dropped below freezing in many regions, causing residents concerns for their health and damage to the environment. This is on of the coldest winters people have seen in a long time.
