College Football Playoffs Narrow Down

The 2024-25 College Football Playoffs are fully underway, and favorites are emerging.

College Football Playoffs have started for the 2024-2025 season! The suspense continues until January 20, 2025, when the National Championship takes place.  

There were four First-Round Games to start off the playoffs, starting with Indiana vs Notre Dame on December 20, 2024. Notre Dame pulled a win 27-17. The following afternoon at 12pm on December 21, 2024, the next First-Round Game started. Penn State vs Southern Methodist University (SMU). The Penn State Nittany Lions snatched a win taking down the Mustangs 38-10.  

Moving on to the third First-Round Game that occurred at 4 p.m. on December 21, 2024; Clemson vs Texas. Texas beat Clemson 38-24. The last First-Round Game happened on December 21, 2024, at 8 p.m., Tennessee vs Ohio State. The Ohio State Buckeyes took down the Tennessee Volunteers 42-17.  

After the results of the First-Round Games, the Quarterfinals started on New Years Eve. First up, Penn State vs Boise State at 7:30 p.m. at the Fiesta Bowl! Penn State stayed on top, securing a win 31-14. For the start of the New Year, on January 1, 2025, the second Quarterfinal game began; Texas vs Arizona State at 1 p.m. Texas took down Arizona winning 39-31.  

Later in the evening on January 1 at 5 p.m., the third Quarterfinal game started, leaving Ohio State with another win after defeating Oregon 41-21. The last Quarterfinal game was played on January 2, 2025, at 4 p.m. Notre Dame defeated Georgia 23-10.  

Moving closer to the National Championship Game, the Semifinals started January 9, 2025. At 7:30 p.m., Notre Dame beat Penn State in a very close game ending 27-24. At 7:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025, the last Semifinal Game will take place, Ohio State vs Texas.  

The National Championship Game will take place on Monday, January 20, 2025, at 7:30 pm. Notre Dame will play the winner of the Cotton Bowl, Ohio State vs Texas. This game will be very close as the new playoff bracket has provided some incredible entertainment. From players like Ashton Jeanty to Cam Skattebo, the finale is sure to impress.
