Is it possible for a White Christmas this year? This first week of December has been shockingly cold with wind and chances of snow!
Starting off with temperatures between 20-35 degrees this past week in Bel Air, there has been declared a wind advisory for most of Maryland. Northwest winds are expected to reach up to 50 mph with possible power outages and tree damage according to CBS News.
There is a blizzard warning for Garrett County in Western Maryland where up to 10 inches of snow is expected; winds also up to 50 mph creating drifting snow, reducing visibility especially when driving, says CBS News.
The weather conditions should be improving by the weekend, on Friday, December 6, 2024, there is predicted to be in the high 30s with sunny skies. Moving into Saturday, December 7, 2024, the temperature is expected to be in the low 40s under sunny skies and no clouds.
Rain is expected next week with higher temperatures! On Monday December 9, 2024, the temperature will be in the high 50s and even the low 60s on Tuesday December 10!
I am wanting a White Christmas this year! Although I am not a fan of this cold weather, I love the snow. I would love to sit by my fireplace drinking hot chocolate while it is snowing outside.
Next week should be warmer with lighter winds making it easier to get out of bed in the morning. Enjoy this weekend and next week’s weather and stay safe!
