Bel Air High School hosted the Region 3 competition for Future Business Leaders of America, or FBLA, on Tuesday, November 19, 2024.
FBLA is an organizational club in high schools all around the nation. It prepares students for careers in the business department and sets them up for success by teaching them leadership skills through academic competitions.
Region 3 had over hundreds of business students preparing to compete in various categories. In these categories, students had the option to take a test or present on certain topics.
Students were then judged by a panel of passionate judges who kindly volunteered. Judges then determined who qualified for the state competition, which will be in Baltimore Maryland.
We asked Julia Beyers, who placed 2nd for broadcast journalism, if she was pleased with the outcome of regionals. Beyers responded, feeling like “a lot of us at Bel Air have qualified for states, and I’m excited to travel with my school for the next step.”
Moving on to the next step, Beyers hopes “to revise [her] broadcast journalism presentation a bit more and add some additional information to it.” She expressed her desire to practice more, so she can be prepared for the competition coming up
Congratulations to Bel Air High School FBLA students who competed! Good luck to the ones moving on to states!
