The famous boxing star, Mike Tyson, joins the ring with former media star, Jake Paul resulting in a loss for Iron Mike. Earlier in 2024, a contract was signed between Paul and Tyson agreeing they would fight in a ring together. Paul continued to ridicule Tyson, leaving remarks such as saying Tyson would not make it to round four.

While Paul begins working out and conditioning his body for the fight, Tyson had a health scare on June 8 and was rushed to the hospital. The fight that was originally scheduled for June 20 was then postponed for health reasons and pushed out to November 15, 2024. After the initial fight Friday, and the loss by the legend ‘Iron Mike’, Tyson takes to his page posting about the after math of the fight: “Had 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won,” Tyson shares.

After the health scare and the recovery of Iron Mike, he began training. Many fans and spectators grew angry at Tyson and the fight itself. Tyson began posting montages of him training aggressively leaving fans ecstatic about the soon to come fight. In these montages, Tyson moves fast with quick and hard punches. Fans became thirsty for more as Tyson slapped Paul for stepping on his foot as Paul called his slap a “love tap.” However, the fight Friday was quite the opposite with Tyson barely punching and moving slow, while taking jabs from Paul.

The speculation behind the Tyson Vs. Paul fight was that the fight was “rigged,” seen as Tyson was well and fast just a month prior to the fight. After the fight, fans take to social media making memes of how Jake Paul fights senior citizens. In-n-Out post saying  “Jake Paul is not welcome at In-N-Out. Elder Abuse…respect your elders”. The controversy about this fight is certainly all over the place leaving fans with strong feelings.

Many began questioning the actual contract that was signed while some say Mike Tyson was holding back the whole fight as he wasn’t allowed to punch or knock out Paul. While this is a speculation, it is true, nonetheless. In multiple clips, it is visible Paul flinched, and Tyson got close. In one specific clip, it shows Tyson about to jab, and at one point do his signature K.O., leaving Paul shook and flinching.

Regardless of all the opinions and controversies, Tyson made a whopping $20 million dollars from the fight itself. Tyson said after the fight he would get some ice cream, and when asked what type he says, “Just Ice cream.” While Iron Mike is now out of the ring, Paul looks for another opponent, challenging Connor McGregor. Fans are left with a sour taste after the defeat of Tyson, although many think it was on purpose.
