On Wednesday, November 13, Content Strategist at Towson University Richard Ivy spoke to Journalism and Interactive Media Students on his personal experiences with Content Strategy.

Ivy shared a detailed presentation explaining his day-to-day work and his brief journalism background. He also gave each student a copy of the Towson University magazine and explained the roles of the Towson News Team and their work with staff specialized in visual media.

Ivy gave insight on potential career opportunities and internships available for students at Towson University as well. One opportunity being a chance to manage Towson’s social media.

In a recent interview, Ivy explains, “It was absolutely wonderful to be invited to talk to the Bel Air High School journalism classes. The students were very impressive; they paid close attention and asked great questions!” He also noted, “It’s nice to know that the future of journalism is alive and well in the younger generations and I think that’s a credit to both the students and the teachers.”

As a special surprise, Ivy’s presentation included well-hidden Taylor Swift lyrics and song titles, the two students who found the most winning one of two vinyl’s. One being Taylor Swift’s Folklore and the other, Gracie Abrams’ The Secret of Us.

Thank you, Mr. Ivy, for coming to speak!
