Bel Air High School hosted a Pep Rally before the homecoming game Friday, October 25 in the gymnasium with students and staff bringing good memories and vibes. This was the first time in years the pep rally was held inside; previously, pep rallies could only accommodate students outside in the stadium.
The Pep Rally began with getting students loud and cheering with the Bobcat mascot and separating everyone by grade level preparing for celebration and cheer. After getting everyone organized by grade, Fall Sports athletes poured into the bleachers, including Soccer, Cross Country, Football, Field Hockey, Volleyball, Cheerleading, and Golf. These teams were introduced with flag carriers and walked their way to their separate bleachers while everyone cheered.
Homecoming Court was introduced as well, including a professional handshake. While these people were being introduced, the marching band performed a variety of songs. Following the introduction of people, the band began using instruments with loud drumming and bass shaking the bleachers while the Color Guard performed the signature Bobcat song, the Alma Mater.
Once everyone was introduced, the band played their powerful instruments and it was time for the games to begin. The games consisted of Hot Potato (consisting of a broom and potato which students pushed their way to the finish line), plunger race (using a plunger and four-wheel cart and stick the plunger on the way to the finish line). Other games included limbo and 100 Meter Dash. The regional championship cheerleaders performed for students and staff in between.
That night, the homecoming football game was an excellent game although BAHS lost, but the Bobcat Spirit was most certainly there. Junior Logan Eck says “This Homecoming was actually very fun.”
Winter sports kick off next week on Tuesday, November 12. Congratulations to all Fall athletes on a great season!
