Varsity Cheer Secures First Place Win in Counties

It has been a fantastic week for the Bel Air Cheerleaders! Varsity won first place at the Perry Hall competition and counties.

On Saturday, October 19, Varsity and JV Cheerleaders attended the National Invitational Perry Hall Competition. JV placed third and won the best choreography award. Varsity scored 108.7 out of 120 and won first place.  Senior Reagan Ketcham was proud of their attention to detail and commitment to improving their routines. “We went out on the mat after adding more difficulty to our stunts. Both stunt groups hit 360s to extension and we had no falls.”

After this amazing outcome at Perry Hall, Bel Air Varsity Cheerleaders headed to counties on the 23rd of October scoring a 110.6 out of 120 and came home with 1st place!

Ketcham had a great time competing with her team. “We hit our routine, none of our stunts fell and all our tumbling went. We brought a lot of energy and entertainment to the judges and crowd.” Bel Air Varsity Cheer has been beaming with excitement today in school.

Despite a varsity cheerleader being injured and a change in the stunts a day before Counties, the team emerged victorious. Although the team was nervous, they pulled through for each other and the routine hit with the best score of the season so far!

Congratulations to the cheer squad on their fantastic achievement.
