On Thursday, October 10, the BAHS Girls Volleyball teams played in the Annual Dig Pink Volleyball game against the Rising Sun Tigers.
The Game
The girls’ varsity volleyball team dominated their Dig Pink match with a 3-0 clean sweep, continuing their undefeated record this season.
From the first serve to the final point, the team showcased exceptional skill and teamwork, leaving their opponents with no chance to recover. Their relentless energy and enthusiasm about the cause behind the game helped move the crowd. This victory not only solidifies their standing but also symbolizes the connection between breast cancer worriers and their family and community.
The Background
Dig Pink is a fundraiser organized by the Side-Out Foundation that raises awareness and funds for breast cancer research through volleyball. Teams across Harford County participate in Dig Pink events, hosting games and various activities to support metastatic breast cancer research.
Fundraisers
Each year, The Lady Bobcats host several fundraisers for the event by selling T-shirts, wristbands, and candy. During the games, they offered raffle baskets, 50/50 raffles, and restaurant prizes. Through their participation in Dig Pink and these fundraising activities, the girls’ volleyball team raised $10,000 this year, the highest amount ever raised by Bel Air.
Come see the team play tonight, Thursday, October 17 at Fallston to defend their title.
