A high-stakes, AP Top 25 game against Alabama and Georgia was something most never thought would happen so soon in the season, yet Week 5 has come around with a killer matchup in college football.
The No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs will visit the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide this Saturday, September 28, at 7:30 p.m., their first matchup in the regular season since 2015. The Crimson Tide and Bulldogs are usually a playoff implication game, such as last year, when they played each other in the SEC Championship and Alabama won 27-24. The next day, Alabama had gotten into the CFP, and Georgia had been eliminated.
The Bulldog’s defense has been stellar so far, being the only FBS team that hasn’t let up a touchdown. Jalen Milroe and the Tide have scored 21 touchdowns this season, 14 of those coming from Jalen Milroe himself.
Georgia has won 42 straight regular season games and is favored by 11.5 points. This is the nations’ highest ranked September matchup since 2017, when top seeded Alabama beat No. 3 Florida State in the first week of the season.
