As of the 2024-2025 school year, Harford County Public Schools will pay for all Advanced Placement exam fees for students in 11th and 12th grade with no cap on the number of AP exams that will be paid for by HCPS.
By removing the financial burden of taking AP tests, students now have further accessibility to enhance their education and improve the chances of getting college credit through AP classes.
AP exam registration opens on October 7th, and will be available until November 7th 2024.
Along with 11th and 12th grade, HCPS will pay the exam fees for the freshmen and sophomores that are eligible for the FARMS program. Students in 9th or 10th grade not in this program will have to pay a $104 fee per exam.
Any student who registers for AP exam(s) after the November 7 deadline will be charged a $42 late fee per exam. This fee does not apply to students in spring-semester AP courses. If a student registers for the exam but does not take it, they will be charged a $42 missed exam fee, regardless of if it was paid by the school or not.
Make sure to register when the chance arrives if interested in this opportunity!
