On Thursday, February 29, seven Bobcat Wrestlers made their way to the Upper-Marlboro area to compete in the state championship. Our representatives were Junior Cole Bursk, Freshman Alex Gray, Junior Gary Mann, Junior Joel Tristan Quandji Nana, Senior Chris Nice, Senior Ian Nitz, and Freshman Owen Reilly.
Following the initial competition, three wrestlers moved further into states: Junior Joel Tristan Ouandji Nana (Weight 175), Senior Chris Nice (Weight 144), and Senior Ian Nitz (Weight 215).
States occurred at The Show Place Arena and continued through to March 2. After a long and hard season, Coach Craig Reddish expressed his excitement for the wrestlers to compete in states, hoping, above all, that they “just have fun.” The Bobcats have had the privilege to attend states for many years, and now the school hopes to see great results from our them.
As Seniors are departing, new wrestlers will emerge as powerhouse contenders for the gold. Who do you think will capture the next wave of success?
