On Friday, February 23, students came together to perform their talents they cannot always show in school. Some of the talents were singing, dancing, swords, and magic. Students that showed off their talents include Adam Kindley, Aishlynn Schrader, and Dexter Gayle. Being able to see students in their element was refreshing since we can only see them in a school setting.

The FBLA and NHS sponsored Talent Show started with Brett Conway and Ethan Folmer performing an opening song before they hosted the night. They introduced the first act of Adam Kindley with a concert-like performance of “Stick Season”. Quickly followed by Makaila Guerrier, Alexis Madden, and Leilani Harrison dancing to “Maniac” by VIVIZ. To slow things down Aishlynn Schrader read an original poem about choosing to love. Owen Conway and Ben Bowen then gave a witty performance of the Cup Song.

To show a change of pace, Dexter Gayle performed with a dance with a sword. Then, a powerful performance of “Take Me to Church” by Jonathan Vanegas. Some teachers showed us what they do outside of school in their band “Heighe Street”. The crowd was then wowed with an interactive magic act by Nicki Sullivan.

We were flashed back to the 80s with a performance of “Rio” by Carter Golden, Jesse Eurich, and Rudy Griger. Paris Abraham sang Billie Holiday’s “I’ll Be Seeing You” with the accompaniment of her guitar. To close out the show, the teachers performed a dance to “Footloose”.
