To kick off spirit week BAHS has been hosting activity games during lunch hours to keep students engaged with Homecoming! Excited to play some Jenga ,Checkers, maybe some cornhole with friends? Round them up and go outside during lunch to play!

Hayden Jurch and Frankie Thomas battle it out with Jenga. (Ella Durden)

During third lunch on Tuesday, I went down myself to see what all the buzz was about, and soon encountered several students parading around the Jenga table watching in anticipation as Hayden Jurch slowly – ever so gently – would pull out a block from a shifty spot. When I held out my phone to type down their name, as I had taken photos of Hayden Jurch and Frankie Thomas playing the game earlier, I was quickly told to wait – as no one wanted to break Jurch’s focus.

To say the least, the students are pretty passionate about Jenga. Especially the Jenga BAHS is providing, which is the Giant one.

Jurch and friends admitted this game was the favorite. “It adds a fear element to it – if it falls on you, it hurts!”
