There are so many amazing members of our Bobcat family that this week we are back to shine a light on another awesome member of the community, Mrs. Monica Malozi.
Today, I had the opportunity of sitting down for a brief interview with her so that I could share her story.
Redding: “Have you had any teaching experience at Bel Air before?”
Malozi: “Yes, I worked at Harve de Grace for 8 years, Joppa town elementary for a year and this is my second year at Bel Air.”
Redding: “What classes do you teach here?”
Malozi: “I’m a special educator, so I work with other teachers around the building to support students in their classes.”
Redding: “What made you want to be a special educator?”
Malozi: “I love working with students and helping those who struggle. I help them find their way in school and help them become successful in and outside of school.”
Redding: “Why did you want to work with high school specifically?”
Malozi: “At first, I wanted to work in elementary school, but my first job opportunity was high school and I ended up loving it. I did end up working with elementary school later and I realized I preferred working with older students and helping them transition from being high schoolers to going to college or what they want to do.”
Redding: “What are you excited about for this school year?”
Malozi: “I’m excited to work with teachers I haven’t worked with before, also to continue working with teachers I have already worked with. Also, I’m excited about being at bel air during the fall when all the events for homecoming are happening.”
Redding: “Lastly, what is a goal that you have?”
Malozi: “To continue to grow relationships here and meet people at Bel Air, like staff and students.”
Malozi is truly a wonderful member to have in our Bobcat family, and we are so excited to see all the amazing work she does and the mark she leaves on our community here at BAHS. Stay tuned in the upcoming weeks as we interview other new members of our Bobcat Nation Staff!
