The BAHS track is open year round.

Last week, Harford County Public Schools cancelled outside games and practices on Tuesday, September 5, and Wednesday, September 6.

On Tuesday, temperatures reached 99°F, while on Wednesday, it was 101°F. As if it weren’t bad enough, the school AC was struggling until after homeroom on Tuesday, leading staff and students to feel, at the very least, uncomfortable.

Some events that were canceled include the Girls Field Hockey game and JV Girls Soccer practice. Any outside practices were also either cancelled or inside. On Wednesday, the 6:30 p.m. Girls Soccer game got pushed back to 7:00 p.m., presumably due to the excessive heat.

With fall season on the horizon, this unexpected heatwave threw a wrench in our sports plans here at BAHS, but teams were quickly recovering and back to practicing in no time. JV Girls Soccer played Friday, September 8, not allowing their missed practice to slow their momentum.

As colder weather approaches, athletes will have to adapt to the change. Some events for this week include away matches for Girls and Boys Volleyball, Soccer, and Field Hockey. Thursday, the BAHS Football Team will play against Harford Tech. Please make the trip and support our athletes!
