The Celtics faced off against the 76ers in a game 5 clash which will be a huge momentum game as the series is tied 2-2. Philly is looking to go back home up 3-2 with a win in this game and the Celtics are looking to take a commanding 3-2 series lead as well but this game is especially important for them because if they lose, they must go back to Philly in a win or go home game which is no easy task.

The Celtics started the game off strong with a barrage of threes in the 1st quarter but then things started to go off the rails. The Celtics went down 7 at the end of the first quarter 33-26 with Sixers guard Tyrese Maxey going off for 12 first quarter points. Celtics star Jayson Tatum got off to another bad shooting start starting 0-9 last game, he started 0-6 this game when we really needed him to get going. The Sixers were hitting their shots all the first half of the game going up as much as 15 points. The Celtics really could never make a run in the 1st half. The Celtics started the 2nd half cold. They could not hit a shot to save their playoff lives and it was all a terrible sight. The Sixers went up by as much as 21. Celtics were booed by their home fans countless times due to their mediocre performance. Every time the Celtics cut the lead to single digits; the Sixers would respond back with another clutch basket. The Celtics ended up losing 115-103 and are down 3-2 in the series.

Game 6 had a different feel to it though. The Celtics came out of the gates firing. Got off to a 13-3 start hitting all of their threes. Despite Jayson Tatum’s struggles in the 1st half once again, the Celtics went into the break leading 50-43 at half. The Sixers took over in the 3rd quarter and finished the quarter leading by 2 73-71. Jayson Tatum came alive in the 4th quarter outscoring the entire Sixers team 16-13 in the 4th. Tatum hit 4 straight threes with 5 minutes left in regulation and the Celtics never looked back. The Celtics survived and won this game 95-86. The Celtics survived elimination and will play a game 7. This game decides it all. Whoever wins advances.

My thoughts for my Celtics are I am confident right now. We are going back to Boston for game 7. We have all the momentum right now with a remarkable gritty game 6 win in Philly which is no easy task. Head Coach Joe Mazzulla made changes to the starting 5 which really helped us out defensively. He scratched Derrick White from the lineup and inserted Robert Williams III. The double big lineup with 2 centers really helped us guard the paint well which is what we were lacking in this series. I really like this new starting 5 and we should continue to use this for game 7. This game is ultimately going to come down to 2 things, if Jayson Tatum can get off to a good start, and if the Celtics can hit their 3 pointers. I am very confident that we will take game 7 but it will be a very close game. I have my Celtics coming out on top winning this game by a score of 110-107.
