‘Cats Start Playoffs with a Win

On Thursday, May 12, 2016 our Lady Bobcats faced off against Parkville High School and won 10-0.

The girls came out with high energy, scoring 10 runs within the first six innings of the game. Spirits were high throughout the game as Bel Air’s bats were never silent. Senior Captain Savannah Meyers had the game ending base hit single and two RBI’s.  Senior Captain Sarah Fleischmann hit 2 for 4 with one RBI. Junior Brianna Fleischmann finished the game with a single and two RBI’s. Junior Morgan Dvorak and Junior Erin Pugh all finished the game with singles. Sophomore Amanda Criss hit 3 for 4 and scored two runs. Freshman Jill Kozak hit 2 for 4 with a triple and an RBI while Freshman Kat Perea hit 4 for 4 with two RBI’s.

Alongside the bats, the girls played a solid game defensively against Parkville with no player from the opposing team making it past second base. Sophomore pitcher Gwen Markowski worked on the mound throwing a no hitter, completely shutting Parkville out.

“As a team we played outstanding defense behind Gwen who pitched a gem. Our hitting is starting to heat up as we scored ten runs in six innings,” shared Senior Captain Savannah Meyers on the game against Parkville.

The girls’ next game is against Perry Hall High School at Perry Hall High School on Monday, May 16, 2016.
