Seniors Steal a Powderpuff Win

On Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015, Bel Air High School held their annual Powderpuff Game where Junior and Senior Girls battled it out in a fierce game of flag football.

The game began at 6 p.m. in Bobcat Stadium. The girls stormed the field with their trusty male cheerleaders cheering them on, dressed up in wigs and skirts for the occasion.

Mr. Austing coached the Junior Girls while Mr. Burke coached the Senior Girls. During halftime, the cheerleaders marched onto the fifty yard line and performed a detailed choreographed dance, pumping up the Bobcats in the stands.

The Junior Girls remained persistent all night long, but were defeated by their elders after Senior Leanne McCord scored a touchdown to make the score 7-0, seniors. This was the only touchdown of the night, solidifying a senior win.

Junior Powderpuff Player Natalie Salib stated, “It was a fun and exciting experience, working together as a class and playing football like the guys. Mr. Austin was a great coach, and next year, we will be sure to win.”

From the boy’s amazing cheerleading skills, to the girl’s skillful plays, the night was a huge success! Congratulations seniors on your win!
