The #7 Bel Air Bobcats (16-1) defeated Edgewood on Wednesday for their fourth consecutive regional title (25-18, 25-14, 25-18).  The Bobcats will be one of eight teams to head to the State quarterfinals.  Bel Air is the only 3A team in the State to win the state quarterfinal round the last 3 years.  They will have a tough assignment as they look to extend that streak Friday.  Once the reseeding of the final 8 teams is announced, the opponent, location and time will be announced.  Whether Bel Air is going to be home or on the road will be left to a coin flip.  Without one of their key scorers on Wednesday, Bel Air leaned on their senior outside and team leader Megan Cassaday (9 kills, 3 aces) and two freshmen.  Freshman Julie Stillwagon (5 kills, 2 aces), and freshman Annalise Lewis (5 kills) provided a spark for the Bobcats.  Bel air also got scoring from senior right-side Jaydn Betters (4 kills, 2 blocks), sophomore setter/right-side Anna Kane (3 kills, 5 aces, 20 assists), senior middle hitter Anaiah Lewis (3 kills, 1 block), senior defensive specialist Lexi Bell (1 kill, 1 ace), junior middle hitter Brooke Hopkins (1 kill, 1 block), junior defensive specialist Megan Schindhelm (4 aces), and senior libero Brooke Keesey (1 ace).  Kane and junior setter Tia Pegler (11 assists) provided the sets for the attack.  The passing and defense was led by Keesey, Bell, Cassaday, and junior defensive specialist Maggie Tsomos.

The Bobcats advance to the State Quarterfinal in the Class 3A State Playoffs on Friday, November 11.  The winner will advance to the State Final Four next Monday.
