This year, 2017, the Tri-M music society continued helping with their annual Toys for Tots drive to help the Toys for Tots organization run by the Marine Corps Reserve that accepts donated toys for families who cannot afford to buy toys for their children for the holidays.

Tri-M has gladly accepted Toys for Tots’s request for them to continue helping underprivileged children this holiday season. The entire school participated in the drive.

Bel Air knows how donating items over the holidays is a worthy cause, as homerooms collect food items for Thanksgiving donations, similar to Tri-M collecting donated toys over the winter holiday season. The music department at Bel Air has always wanted to help out for families over the holidays.

“The music department itself has always been devoted to supporting children in need through Toys for Tots,” Tri-M President, Duyen Bui expresses. “We strive to make the drive a school-wide participation,”

The drive was a great success, as Tri-M collected a surplus of toys.

“Along with Tri-M members advocating this cause in the mornings, we also collect donations at our Winter Series concerts,” Tri-M member, Neyla Kuhn says. “Since the Tri-M Music Honor Society is composed of music students, Toys for Tots asks us to assist in the toy collection,”

A huge “Thank you” and “Happy Holidays” to all the Bel Air students who helped out and donated to bring holiday cheer to those in need.
