Blogilates – Pilates for Everyone!

One of the things that motivates me to stay healthy and fit are the videos uploaded by Cassey Ho, an award-winning fitness instructor and entrepreneur, who runs the YouTube fitness channel called Blogilates. Cassey Ho branches away from traditional Pilates and incorporates pop music and dynamic choreographies into her workouts to make it enjoyable and easy for her viewers to follow. She calls these new innovated Pilates routines POP Pilates.

Blogilates is more than just a fitness channel. It is a positive community made up of people from all over the world encouraging others to connect and bond over their ambitions to stay healthy and happy. Ho encourages others to change their mindset of exercising and eating healthy from a chore to an enjoyable lifetime investment. One section of Blogilates, “Before & After”, shows pictures of POPsters’ (people who follow Blogilates) bodies from before their workout transformations and after their journey through POP Pilates. These POPsters report that after joining the Blogilates community, they see changes such as clearer skin, shinier hair, and higher self-esteem.

Blogilates posts workout calendars every month for POPsters to follow every day. These calendars indicate what exercise videos to watch on a specific day targeting different muscle groups such as abs, glutes, arms, or total body workout. Warm-up and cool down stretches are highly encouraged before and after performing the exercises on the calendar. These calendars are free and are accessible through the blogilates webpage. An e-mail address is required in order for the user to obtain password access the new monthly calendars. These monthly calendars are printable, as well are the calendars that target specific body areas.

For the New Year, Ho started “The 28 Day Reset Challenge”. The objective is for the next 28 days, POPsters must omit eating dairy, gluten, added sugars, processed food, and alcohol. This is a way for POPsters to discover which types of food make their bodies feel bloated, breakout with acne, and prevent them from losing weight.
