New Year, Fresh Start

As we are about halfway through the first month of the new year, now is the perfect time to really implement what you want into this new year. Every year, we think about what we want to do to make the new year the best, we get all excited over this change, but just like a sugar rush, this flame burns out as quickly as it was ignited.

However, by getting back into your routine and seeing what you can actually accomplish, your resolutions will be more realistic, and your plans to accomplish them are much more attainable.

Whether you have a list of ten resolutions or you decided not to make any because in the past you haven’t kept them, I urge you to try something. Evaluate your life, and see what you like and what you don’t like about it.

If you love your friend group, but you hardly show it, make a pact with yourself to do something to show them how much they mean to you. If you hate how you procrastinate, get a planner, fill it out with every important date, and try to make to-do lists when you feel overwhelmed.

There are two main problems when it comes to New Year’s resolutions. One is that we get too wrapped up in the idea that we should have them that we don’t give any thought into what we really should try to fix.

The other problem is that we make resolutions, but we forget to make a plan to actually resolve our problems. When you evaluate what you are fond of in your life and what needs change, make a plan of how you are actually going to make such changes.

No matter how big or small your resolutions are, or if you have yet to make any, please remember one thing: you can make a change at any time you want. Life is too short to have a life you don’t love. Make 2017 your best and happiest year ever!!!
