Christmas in Bel Air

Natalie Peckham

So, it has officially happened. The Christmas decorations are up in the mall, the holiday stations are on the radio, and my Christmas list has been sent in. Christmas is the time of year that the majority of little kids anticipate beginning in October. All the joy of waking up on Christmas morning is just something that you can’t ignore. In fact, I’m still the person in my house that runs around waking everybody up. I’m the youngest, what can I say?

I’ve lived in Bel Air all my life. In doing so, I have been able to experience so many amazing Christmas events. Whether you’ve lived in Bel Air for just a few months or forever, this holiday season, make sure you get out with your family and friends to experience the magic of Christmas in Bel Air.

Here are some ideas on things you can do:

  1. This is probably the easiest thing to do to get in the Christmas spirit (besides the burden of gas money.  Drive around your neighborhood and other neighborhoods to look at all the beautiful and fun Christmas lights.
  2. Right in Bel Air, there is the annual tree lighting. It have already been lit this year, but don’t let this stop you from going to see it. This tradition is one that I always look forward to. Think of the New York one, but more personal because it is in your town.
  3. Participate in a secret Santa or white elephant. It’s always fun to go out and buy gifts around Christmas and this way you get to learn more about your friends or family while doing it.
  4. Your very own school also has its annual Christmas concerts coming up. The band, orchestra, and chorus perform all your favorite Christmas songs from “Jingle Bells” to “White Christmas”.

These activities listed are just a few things to get into the Christmas spirit. But whatever you do, make your own traditions. Make sure to include your loved ones and have a very happy holiday from our Bellarion family to yours!
