Every year there are new talented musicians that are discovered and start their singing career. With so many different musical artists there are bound to be some that are not as well-known as others in mainstream media or are still trying to gain popularity. Here are some artists that you may not know and might enjoy.

Jillian Rose Banks is a singer and songwriter known as Banks from Orange County, California that releases music under the Universal Music Group label. Currently, she has one album, Goddess, which was released in 2014, and two extended plays, Fall Over and London, which were both released in 2013. In addition, she has seven singles that have been released, “Warm Water”, “Brain”, “Drowning”, “Beggin for Thread,” “Better,” “Change,” and “Alibi,” six of which are songs off of her Goddess album. She also was nominated in 2014 for the MTV Brand New Nominee Award and won the third place for the BBC Sound of 2014 Award in 2013.

Ashley Nicolette Frangipane is a singer and songwriter from Washington, New Jersey that started performing under the name Halsey at the age of seventeen. She is currently releasing albums under the Universal Music Group Label, and since her start in 2014 she has released one album, Badlands, and an extended play, Room 93. She also has released five singles between the years of 2014 to 2016, “Castle,” “Colors,” “New Americana,” “Ghost,” and “Hurricane.” In 2015, Halsey was nominated for the MTV Europe Music Award in the Artist on the Rise category, and The People’s Choice award for Favorite New Breakout Artist. In 2016, she was nominated for the NME Award for Best New Artist.

Melanie Martinez is a singer and songwriter from Long Island, New York. She was one of the contestants on the third season of the television show The Voice which aired in 2012. Despite her elimination after the fifth week of being on the show, she decided to work on independent musical works which eventually led her to publish her music with Atlantic Records. In 2014, she released her first extended play titled, Dollhouse, and the following year released her debut album Crybaby.

Jordan Mark Witzigreuter is singer and songwriter from Fort Wayne, Indiana and the only member of The Ready Set. Jorden started off his singing career by recording his music in his basement, and in 2009 was discovered by Pete Wentz, the bassist for The Fallout Boy, who helped him to get a contract with Decaydance Records. He is currently releasing music with Hopeless Records. As of this year, Witzigreuter has released four Albums under The Ready Set name, Tantrum Castle, I’m Alive, I’m Dreaming, The Bad & The Better, and I Will Be Nothing Without Your Love, and four extended plays, Cascade, Feel Good Now, I’ll Be Waiting, and The Celebrity EP.

Studio killers is a mysterious electronic pop band from the Europe that work together to produce their music. The band consists of four members who go by the aliases Cherry, Goldie Foxx, Dyna Minx, and Bipolar Bear. Despite having performed live twice, the band members’ actual identities have not been confirmed. The band released their first album in 2013 named Studio Killers, and have released six singles since 2011 titled, “Ode to the Bouncer,” “Eros and Apollo,” “All men are Pigs,” “Jenny,” “Who is in Your Heart Now,” and “Grande Finale.”
