Senior Snow Days

In the beginning of the winter season, Bobcats were still showing up to school in shorts. In fact, there were many complaints, especially from the senior class, that we would barely get any snow days this year. However, students had a brutal awakening when things started to really get cold.

Bel Air, Maryland got hit with a huge snow storm from January 25th-29th, which got the students and staff out of school for an entire week. Students rejoiced, but being snowed in for five days turned out not to be such a walk in the park for many. Things quickly got old when everyone was trapped inside their homes due to the 30-33 inches of snow.

Bel Air High School has also had other snow days in the month of February.  February 9th, 10th and the 16th were spent at home due to dangerous, snowy/icy conditions.  Unfortunately because of the days missed, spring break has been affected.

Many events have been postponed or canceled because of the weather, including the Winter Ball, and students have mixed feelings about whether this crazy winter season is a good thing or a bad thing.

“I just wish all of this snow would stop and melt away. I WANT WARM WEATHER!” shouted Senior Ron Johnson.

“I love the snow, I hope we get more! Being a senior this year, I really don’t care about getting days added to the end of the year,” said Senior Skyler Soriano, when asked about how she felt about this winter season.

Luckily for those who want winter to end, the groundhog’s shadow was not spotted. So supposedly, this short winter season will soon be coming to an end.
