The Wonders of Winter

Winter can be cold, icy, and often unpleasant. However, winter isn’t all shivers and dry hands. With cold weather often comes new opportunities.

Snow and ice are common occurrences and a staple part of winter in the northeast region of America. Together, they cover the ground and freeze nearby bodies of water allowing individuals to participate in outdoor activities like snowboarding, ice skating, and snowball fights that can only be enjoyed in colder temperatures. Or, for the more creative Bobcats, a snowman is always a great option.

The cool winter weather allows individuals to wear various clothing items that are much too warm to wear at any other part of the year. In winter, people have the ability to wear layered clothing without worrying about sweating through their clothing. As people attempt to stay warm, many wear heavy sweaters, boots, sweat clothing, scarves, and jackets.

Bonfires are a great way to beat the cold weather and hang outside. Bonfire pits also allow multiple people to gather around them giving them an opportunity to have long meaningful conversations with their friends and family, or to just enjoy the flames. They can be used to create fun treats such as s’mores, or roasted weenies.

Winter is a wonderful time to eat or drink warm goods. The time it takes to make cookies, stew, or a soup allows families to bond during the creation as they talk and collaborate to create their dinner or dessert.

The holidays and snow days allow people to enjoy time with their family, and enjoy some of the smaller moments in life as they embrace that snow day off of work or school. During a snow day, people can do a number of activities such as read, craft, or, play outside!

Hopefully this winter season helps you connect with the important people in your life. Have a good season!
