School Year Survival Guide

The beginning of the school year is stressful, and we all want to succeed yet we never know how. Here are a few simple ways to ensure a school year full of success and happiness.

  1. Manage your time wisely; procrastination is your enemy. Many times we stress out because we don’t have enough time to complete a project, but it is because we waited to complete the project that we are cramming. When you get an assignment do it as soon as possible, or set up a schedule and do a little bit at a time. Remember: work smart, not hard.
  2. Stay organized, not just the first week of school, but all It’s easy to be organized when you just have a few papers, but as we all know papers come fast and pile up and soon our system doesn’t work any longer. Secure all papers so you don’t lose things, use dividers, and have different binders for your various classes.
  3. Use weekends to your advantage. Weekends are a great time for relaxation and getting ahead on your upcoming school work. Try to get 8-10 hours of sleep on Saturday and Sunday to help with the upcoming week.
  4. Sleep is extremely beneficial. The earlier you can go to sleep, the more time our body has to regroup and the more rested you will feel in the morning.
  5. Give your mind a break. Doing homework for three straight hours isn’t fun nor is it healthy. Your brain and hands needs a break, and plus no one wants to sit in a chair and write for three hours straight. Get a snack, take a nap, play with your dog, go for a walk, do things to break up your homework. It makes it feel like less work and it adds some joy in homework.
  6. Stay positive. School can be stressful, but your attitude dictates a lot of your success. Keep a mindset of positivity. Don’t let one bad grade get to you, focus and try to do better next time. Remember, all you can ever do is your
