C.O.R.E Clubs Respects Everyone

This year the C.O.R.E club is back to promote kindness and spread compassion through Bel Air High for the 2013-14 school year.

C.O.R.E Club stands for, “Challenge Ourselves to Respect Everyone.” Respecting everyone is a goal that non-members should take part in as well. One of C.O.R.E Club’s main goals is to prevent bullying and harassment within the school.

C.O.R.E Club has three major events in the works for this year- one for each the fall, winter, and spring.  The events are yet to be revealed, but Mrs. Zorbach, C.O.R.E Clubs advisor, described the activities to be events like last year’s polar bear plunge or “something of the sort”. The C.O.R.E Club is also striving to create one activity a month that is going to promote compassion throughout the student body. The chain that has hung in the cafeteria is going to be created yet again; the chain is used as a place where students can give thanks or kudos to a teacher or.

“Bullying isn’t a topic to be taken lightly and it is not something that disappears once kids reach high school. The negatives effects of cyber-bullying are growing stronger every day. We need to reach out to one another and be sensitive to others’ wants and needs in life. You never know what kind of personal battles individuals are dealing with, so be patient, kind, and respectful to those around you,” proclaimed Mrs. Zorbach.
