Friday, May 18, 2012 was Senior Administration Day at Bel Air. Senior Administration Day is when a senior takes over a staff members job (of their choice) for the entire day, to find out how difficult it really is to be a staff memeber. Things like math teachers, art teachers, technology teachers, and even cafeteria workers were all performed by the seniors on this day. Reed Lawhan, a senior, said, “Senior Administration Day was amazing! I enjoyed being a math teacher. I also got free candy out of it.” English teacher, Ms.Barnes, said, “Senior Administration day is a neat rite of passage for seniors. I’ve had students ask to “be me” as early as their sophomore year. It’s also really funny to see how students impersonate you. I never noticed how often I wear a sundress and a cardigan!”
In keeping with tradition, a number of seniors took on the job of cafeteria workers and helped to hand out lunches and keep the cafeteria clean. The seniors even decided to entertain the 4 lunches with some singing and dancing. While their dance moves left a little to be desired, the cafeteria looked great and the lunches were as delicious as always.
The day ended up being a huge hit for all seniors and staff who were involved.
