Homecoming Fashion Tips

Homecoming; the social event of the year. Girls fantasize about the perfect dress for months in advance, you know, the drop-dead stares as you enter the room kind of dress that others will envy for the rest of the year. The research and time it takes to look for that certain special dress makes it stressful for you and your wallet, so why not dress in a way that says “It looks like I just spent hundreds of dollars on this but I only spent my parents minimum”. I would like to say that it’s not always about how much you pay for the dress, but it’s more about the way you feel when you come down the stairs after four hours of hacking at your hair to make it perfect, with a sheen of lipstick and blush growing and enveloping your star-lit eyes like roses, when you see your date nervously clutching your corsage, knowing that the look in his eyes is only meant for you. In a sense, the dress is only the minor detail in the whole scheme of things, because you know that the person you’re going with would look at you in that nervous way even if you were wearing a brown potato sack and a pair of old running sneakers. Dress shopping should be on the back-burner of people’s agendas for homecoming, not the front-runner, because essentially you are the star, not the draped piece of fabric that’s sticking to you like cling-wrap. Pick something that accents who you are as a person, and remember that it’s not about the dress on that special day. I have picked out a few dresses that will mirror how you feel on the inside, and that will let you shine through the fabric.
