On October 13, 2011, before school, members of the Environmental Club got together to harvest lettuce to be used in the school lunches. The members include Brandon Arnett, Amanda Barton, and Reed Lawhon. Mr. Hedelson is the Faculty sponsor for the club.

 The lettuce was in the green house in the back of the school. It was during the summer and Mr. Hedelson kept them safe and growing for students to eat this year.  After picking about 3-4 heads of lettuce, they delivered the produce to Mrs. Freda, one of the cafeteria staff. They even got to test taste the lettuce.  So, the next time to you add some lettuce to your nachos during lunch just remember, that lettuce could have been grown right here at Bel Air High School.
