On Wednesday, December 7, 2022, the Bobcat Boys’ Basketball Team played their second game of the season against Harford Tech, a game which resulted in a 59-81 loss for the Bobcats.

Injury plagued the Bel Air team as they slipped against the Cobras, losing by a 22-point gap. The team, missing four starting players, couldn’t keep up with the Harford Tech offense, costing them another loss. The team also lost against the Havre De Grace Warriors a week prior by 30 points. Senior Caden Kestner explained that “we have room to improve, but we’re solid so far.”

Although facing the adversity of a 0-2 start, the team looks forward to the following weeks, and is staying optimistic. The team continues to take advantage of opportunities to improve and adjust strategies to prepare for their starting players to return.

Head Coach Alex Darko, in response to the Harford Tech game, stated, “I’m proud of the way the team fought throughout the game and never gave up. We played together, adjusted strategies during the game well and gave maximum effort. Even though it was a loss in the record books, it was a 100% win/gain because we improved on certain metrics from the previous game. We will continue to improve with every practice and game experience.”

The players are remaining optimistic about player returns from injuries. Senior Will Carrier expressing that “the team could be good, but we’re missing key players”.

Our school community is looking forward to the rest of the season and the experiences that come with it. This week, the team secured their first win over Bohemia Manor, with a score of 57-41 for the Bobcats. Cheer on the team at their next game, Friday, December 16 at home versus Fallston.
