Girls’ Volleyball Season Ends Against Northern in State Playoffs

David Simon, Head Coach, Girls' Volleyball

The #7 Bel Air Bobcats (16-2) had their season and playoff run ended on Friday in a 3-set sweep (19-25, 22-25, 10-25).  The Bobcats found some moments of life but slow starts in each set and too many errors stopped them short.  The loss is the final match for the six seniors — defensive specialist Lexi Bell, right-side Jadyn Betters, outside Megan Cassaday, libero Brooke Keesey, middle hitter Anaiah Lewis and setter Kendall Marx.  Cassaday led the way with 4 kills, and Lewis and junior outside hitter Kayden Hardenbrook both added 3 kills.  Also chipping in were sophomore setter/right-side Anna Kane (2 kills, 2 aces, 8 assists), right-side Brooke Hopkins (2 kills), and setter Tia Pegler (1 kill, 7 assists).  The passing and defense was led by Keesey, Bell, Cassaday, and junior defensive specialist Maggie Tsomos.  The Bel Air team would like to thank all their fans, the community and family and friends for their support this season.  The team will celebrate the season with a banquet scheduled for Tuesday, November 29 or Wednesday, November 30.
