On Wednesday, October 12, 2022, the Bel Air High School Cheerleading team competed in their first competition of the year, where they won 5 of 6 awards and placed first overall in Varsity and Junior Varsity.

The Varsity team competed at 6:30, where they went first in the event. They completed their routine with excellence and earned a great 112 points overall for their performance. Many other teams followed them but could not match their excellent score.

The team was led by captain Caroline McDonnell, who led the team through their routine and into their win. When asked about the team’s performance, she said, “I think the biggest strength of our team is the ability to bounce back no matter the situation and that everyone is always of their teammates. It is very rewarding to be captain of such a strong team who never gives up.”

The team brought home the most awards that night, winning 5 of 6 awards across JV and Varsity. The Bobcats proved that their skill was greater than that of the competition, earning them a win in their first competition.
