Girls’ Volleyball Sweeps Season Series

 The #7 Bel Air Bobcats (9-1) swept the season series with North Harford on Thursday.

The #7 Bel Air Bobcats (9-1) swept the season series with North Harford on Thursday, October 13th (25-9, 25-14, 14-25, 25-14).  Despite being short 3 starters, the Bobcats were still able to control the match and get kills from 10 different players for the second straight match.

The leaders were senior outside Megan Cassaday (9 kills, 2 aces), junior outside Kayden Hardenbrook (7 kills), and junior middle Keira Tyndall (5 kills, 6 aces,1 block).  The assists were provided by the setting trio sophomore setter/right-side Anna Kane (20 assists, 4 kills, 1 ace), junior setter Tia Pegler (19 assists, 3 kills, 2 aces), and senior setter Kendall Marx (2 assists, 1 kill).  The rest of the offense was supplied by freshman outside Julie Stillwagon (4 kills), senior right-side Jaydn Betters (3 kills, 3 aces), sophomore Olivia Mannion (2 kills, 5 aces), and junior defensive specialist Maggie Tsomos (1 kill).  The passing and defense was strong and led by senior libero Brooke Keesey, senior outside Lexi Bell, and Cassaday.  Bel Air holds a 2-game lead in the UCBAC conference over Patterson Mill with 4 matches remaining.

The Bobcats will host C.Milton Wright on Tuesday, October 18 at Bel Air as part of the team’s annual Dig Pink match.  Varsity 6:45, JV 5:15.  Bel Air has raised over $50,000 since their first Dig Pink match in 2010. The visitors from C. Milton Wright will come in as winners of 5 of their last 6 matches.  On Friday, October 21 the Bobcats will travel to Patterson Mill where the top 2 teams in the conference will square off for a second time.  Bel Air defeated C.Milton Wright and Patterson Mill the first time the teams met earlier this season.
