The Bel Air varsity cheer team placed 1st at the Eastern Tech invitational on Saturday October 12, 2019.

The cheer team went up against Broadneck, Chesapeake, and Arundel, who are considered to be the “elite teams” in high school cheerleading.

The team was disappointed when they didn’t hit, but was excited to hear that they managed to maintain a high score and come out on top.

“We still have a lot to work and improve on, but I’m still so proud of what we’ve accomplished so far this season,” exclaimed senior captain Madison Humes.

The varsity cheer team also placed 1st at the Patterson Mill invitational and they are working hard to keep up this winning streak through the rest of their fall season.

“Other schools are watching videos of our routine, and working so hard to be like us so we need to keep up this great work,” said another one of the senior captains, Emily Slater!

The team is very excited to be going to the county championship on Tuesday October 22, 2019. They have been working very hard on their routine and hope to keep up this great work and to finish the season strong.
