This season Girls Volleyball plans to make a comeback to States, last season was very successful due to the hard work, dedication, and effort that the team put in during every practice. The 2018 Girls Volleyball team made history by being the first Bel Air Girls Volleyball team to make it to States, with an overall record of 18-3.

The team is going into this season with full determination. Although every athlete was essential for the team’s success, the players with that created the biggest impact include junior outside hitter Maddie Reagan, right side hitter Mckenna Reiswig, and sophomore middle hitter Lexi Couch.

The girls have been training very hard to accomplish their goals for this season. Head Coach, Dave Simon told the team “Our motto is effort above all else, we believe that if you give your best, winning and losing will take care of themselves.  If we play with a collective belief that we can get to any ball, and we can beat any giant we face, then anything is possible”.

The teams Biggest strength this year is the experience the girls have of playing at a high level due to the highly competitive 2018 season. The team has a very competitive group of girls which makes each athlete make the other one stronger. Currently the team’s biggest weakness is not always being as quick and aggressive as they could be, but Coach Simon has hopes it will improve as the season progresses.

The new additions to the 2019 girls’ volleyball team has good potential for the upcoming season. “We have some talented new players, and I believe they are growing in their comfort and confidence every day.  Our seniors are incredible ladies with big hearts and genuinely care about their younger teammates. It is a beautiful thing to watch, and I hope this younger crew will “pay it forward” when they are the veterans on the team.” said Head Coach, Dave Simon.

The Bel Air girls’ volleyball team has worked extremely hard during preseason and the coaches expect them to work just as hard if not harder as the season goes on.  We hope to see another successful year of girls’ volleyball.
