On Wednesday January 16, 2019, the Bel Air Boys’ Basketball team played the Liberty Lions, away for a neutral non-conference game and lost 55-76. Thursday, January 17, 2019 the Bel Air Varsity Boys’ basketball team played one of their rivals, the North Harford Hawks away at North Harford High School. The Bobcats unfortunately lost this conference game, 50-64.

On Wednesday, Josh Stocum had 13 points and 5 rebounds, Zach Liberto had 22 points, Marquez Kimbrough had 2 steals and played very good defense. The Liberty Lions were ranked 12th in the metro area.

Bel Air played their hardest, it was a tough game and didn’t end how they wanted it, but they played well so that’s all that matters in the end. The Bobcats still have time to make it up and win their games in the future.

Senior, Zach Liberto says, “They were a tough opponent which helped us get better in the long run. I feel like we are playing more as a team and will go into the playoffs playing our best ball”.

Bel Air was missing three of their best players for the game on Thursday. This effected their game, but they all tried their best to win. They may have lost, but they all worked together to play a good game.

Senior, Marquez Kimbrough tells us, “It was a tough one, we were short 3 of our best players. It was an away game, against a rival, so it already wasn’t in our favor. We came out weak, North Harford was a pretty good team. We shot the ball very well and stayed in it for a bit. Couldn’t pull it out in the end”.

The Bel Air Bobcats are now ranked 3rd in the section standings, 5th for the overall record, and 9th in the league standings.
