On Thursday, December 13, the Bel Air Girls’ Basketball Team played against rival C. Milton Wright in an Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference game. Both JV and Varsity clenched wins for their record books.

In 2017, C. Milton Wright were the Class 3A state runner ups. Bel Air knew they would need to play their hardest to beat the Mustangs. In the end, the Bobcats defeated the Mustangs with a score of 40-20. The Varsity team remains undefeated with an overall record of 3-0 and a conference record of 2-0.

Key contributors to the Bobcats’ victory include senior Bailey Springer with 18 points, junior Maggi Hall with three points, eight rebounds, three steals and three assists, and junior Julianna Harden with five points, four rebounds, and three assists.

“This was a great win for us to go off of,” says senior Bailey Springer. “To beat a great team like C. Milton Wright puts a lot of confidence on our shoulders and this will be a good game to look back on as we move farther into the season.”

Not only did the varsity pull out a win against the Mustangs, but the JV team clenched a win as well. With many contributors, the JV Bobcats won with a score of 35-20.

“The season will only get harder from here. The teams are having more practice days and are getting better every day, but so are we. As we move farther in the season, we will need to execute more to beat these upcoming teams,” says junior Maggi Hall.
