Field Hockey Wins on Senior Night

On October 17, 2018 the Bel Air Bobcats Field Hockey team defeated North East High School under the Bobcat Stadium lights by a score of 6-0.

It was a special night at Bobcat Stadium as it was Senior Night. There is nine seniors on the team, which will cause big change for next year. The Cats came out very strong, scoring four goals in the first half. Scoring for Bel Air in the first half was McKenna Reichard, Peyton Hale, Tori Mumm, and Bailey Springer. “I never thought Senior Night would come so quick! It was a hard, overwhelming night for everyone and so full of emotion. Senior year has become so surreal,” says Senior number 23 Brooke Steg.

Scoring in the second half was Annika Egerland, and Julian Vazquez, ending the game with a score of 6-0. Springer and and Reichard also had an assist each. Goalie Alex Birch had two saves as well.

“Losing so many seniors next year is going to really affect our team. I am going to miss each and every one of them more than anything and hope we all stay in touch! Hockey will not be the same without them” says Junior Maddie Conroy.

The Bobcats proceed to playoffs thanks to this win, as well as their other impressive performances throughout the season.
