On Saturday, September 15, 2018, the Bel Air Boys’ Varsity Soccer team took on John Carroll in the 2nd annual Battle of Bel Air at Bobcat Stadium.

The Bobcats started out strong with a goal to dominate the beginning of the game. Seven minutes into the first half, Senior Rodney Mairose scores with an assist from Marco Rebleto Baget to kick it off 1-0.

“It was a long stretch of work leading up to the game but we knew if we came out and executed we would come out on top” says Junior Emre Sipos.

Mairose then added another to the scoreboard, making it 2-0 with a goal with 8 minutes left in the first half off an assist from Senior Ethan Lassen.

John Carroll scored with 6 minutes remaining in the game to bring the final score to 2-1. Bel Air proudly took home the Battle of Bel Air trophy this year, and will work to do the same next year.

“Very excited about the season. Definitely the best group of boys I have played with all through my high school career, ready to see where it takes us” says Rodney Mairose.
