On Wednesday May 2, 2018 through Thursday May 3, 2018, the Bel Air High School Track team competed in the High School Track UCBACS at Perryville High School.

During the men’s 200-meter dash, Kurt Nolasco placed 2nd, and during the women’s 200-meter dash, Emilia Dziedzic placed 6th. During the men’s 400-meter dash, Brenton Duvall placed 6th and for the women’s 400-meter dash, Paige Blaker placed 2nd.  For the men’s 800-meter dash, Kieran McDermott placed 1st with a time of 1:54! As for the women’s 800-meter dash, Paige Blaker placed 4th. For the men’s 1600-meter dash, Kieran McDermott placed 1st with a time of 4:23! For the women’s 1600-meter dash, Rebekah Cross placed 4th. During the men’s 3200-meter dash, Caleb Zylka placed 4th, and for the women’s Rebekah Cross placed 1st with a time of 11:59!

For the women’s 100-meter hurdle, Lydia Cross placed 6th. For the men’s 300-meter hurdle, Bryson Foye placed 10th. For the women’s 300-meter hurdles, Lydia Cross placed 6th. For the men’s 4×100 relay, Bel Air placed 8th. As for the women’s 4×100 hurdles, Bel Air placed 9th. For the men’s 4×400 relays, Bel Air placed 1st! As for the women’s 4×400 relay, Bel Air placed 3rd. For both the men and women’s 4×800, Bel Air placed 1st!

“The 4×400 relay was an outstanding race! Everybody pulled their weight,” said Bel Air Track runner, Bryson Foye.

For the men’s shot put, Austin Hess placed 12th and for the women’s shot put, Jillian Kozak placed 11th. For the men’s discus, Mason Wooten placed 15th and for the women’s discus, Riley Jester placed 18th.  For the men high jump, Stephen Cullinan placed 10th and for the women’s high jump, Mackenzie Plowman placed 19th. During the men’s pole vault, Adam Keh placed 11th.  For the men’s long jump, Stephen Cullinan placed 15th and for the women’s long jump, Emilia Dziedzic placed 5th. During the men’s triple jump, Jackson Owens placed 24th.

“UCBACS went really well for our team. I am so proud of how far we’ve come! Even though some people didn’t do their best, there is always next time. I can’t wait for regions!” said Shelby Hay, Bel Air Track runner.
